The Inka Jungle Trail is the most exciting trek to reach Machu Picchu. Enjoy the terrific downhill
ride by bicycle to the town of Santa María and trek along historic Inka Trails through the semi-
tropical jungle of the Peruvian highlands.

Day 1. Cusco - Santa Maria:
At 6:30am, we leave Cusi Wasi towards the Málaga Pass (4,350 m.a.s.l.). The route that lasts
about 4 hours showcases picturesque towns such as Chinchero and others. On top of the pass,
we mount our bikes and put on our helmets to begin a thrilling downhill ride of 5 hours. During
the downhill race, try to enjoy the changes in landscape, flora and fauna: from the cold highland
Puna to the ridge of the Amazon basin with its plantations of coffee, coca and citrus fruits. We
arrive in the town of Santa María at about 5pm.

Day 2. Santa Maria - Santa Teresa:
At 6am, after breakfast, we begin walking along the banks of the Vilcanota river, passing foot-
bridges and travelling down real Inka Trails. Watch and listen to the sounds of an array of bird
species and bear in mind that the Amazon basin, and especially the southeast of Peru, has the
richest biodiversity of the world. After lunch in Kellomayo, we head to the hot springs for a swim
in the healthy waters set in an enchanting natural ambiance. The night is spent in Santa Teresa.

Day 3. Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes:
After breakfast, we trek along rivers and lakes. The dense forest sounds and smells remind us of
the unique place we find ourselves in. We walk along the railroad to Machu Picchu. The best is
yet to come!

Day 4. Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco:
After a night's rest in the town of Aguas Calientes, we leave early in the morning for a 1 1/2-hour
walk up to the citadel. Here, the guide will give a 3-hour tour of all the spectacular places with its
stories and views. For those brave enough to climb the steep hill of Huayna Picchu, a great view
